Simba
Simba´98Pencil drawings of my little Simba 1998 in Dublin, when he was very sick and slept all the time. He died of Hiv at the age of 6months, we loved him. Even though he was in pain and on antibiotics all the time, he was the most gentle and loving cat I´ve known.-minh-

Do you mean FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)? Animals don't carry HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).
Exactly. It´s the same kind of virus, though..the vet said. Simba had diarrhea, he didn´t grow as he should have and he also had terrible fits, like epilepsy or something. We looked after him over Christmas and then decided to take him to the vet...it was sad, but beautifu. in a way. He died sleeping and purring on my lap and had no pain. He was very much loved and I think of him every Christmas a lot.

It's good to know Simba passed away in good hands though. Several years ago our family dog died (after fifteen years) after struggling with seizures the last couple of years she lived. It was one of the saddest days of my life--having to carry her to the vet, but at least I knew she didn't have to suffer again. Strange, because now I'm attached to my pet turtle Gammera (not quite as cuddly and personable as a dog or cat but charming nevertheless). Drop by and say hi to Gammera when you get a chance(I post a photo and a goofy comment every tuesday, though I won't be posting anything the next couple of weeks). Happy Holidays!
